I turn fifty-one years old this year, and I don’t mind too terribly much. First of all, I get to grow a bit older. Secondly, I get to turn the occasion on its head and make it about other people instead being about me – you know, like everything else is, all the time. I’ve chosen to run a charity: water campaign in association with my birthday. My hope is to raise $1000 for clean water projects in developing countries, and I hope you can help me do that. A suggested amount of $51 is what the site came up with – a dollar for each year I’ve been alive! – but any amount, a little or a lot, will help a great deal.
So help me celebrate my birthday in a way that means something special, won’t you?
