Now that I’ve been assigned my Blood Sugar Meter and Secret Decoder Unit, I guess I’m officially a Type 2 diabetic.
Which is, you know, awesome.
Excuse me a moment.
*snikt*
Current glucose reading, 2 hours after breakfast: 108 mg/dL. Was 128 upon waking this morning; 123 just before breakfast.
And now I’m hungry. Time to eat.
Gee, that looks familiar! I was diagnosed as diabetic last fall, and have the same meter. It’s a milestone I knew was coming at some point, but was definitely not a line I wanted to cross. I guess reality came up and bit me, huh?
Best of luck with managing and conquering the diabetes beast!

Hello, diabetic kinswoman! I had the same reaction that you did, from the sound of it. I’m reminded of a quote from (of all novels) Jurassic Park: Everyone knows it’s coming, but not so soon.
Thanks for stopping by, and for the kind wishes! Good luck to you, too.
Guess you won’t have any fun when it time to board an airplane!
